Edge Protection Competency Training
Overview:
Falls from height remain the biggest cause of fatalities within the construction industry.
Even falls from relatively low heights can cause serious injuries. Therefore,
collective protective measures should be adopted wherever possible.
In line with the requirement of leading UK Main Contractors, easi-edge has
developed a training programme based on the correct procedures and standards
required for use of proprietary edge protection.
The course content would
include an introduction into safety solutions available to the industry
today, a brief overview of both Work at Height regulations and the use and
inspection of fall arrest equipment. Also included is a practical demonstration
on installation, inspection and dismantling of proprietary edge protection.
The focus of this one day
course will be BS EN 13374. A presentation will be given outlining the standard
to which all proprietary edge protection systems should comply including the
design, testing and installation of systems.

Protection Standard BS EN 13374
- Practical
demonstrations - edge protection solutions, lift shaft protection, trailer fall
arrest and loading bay protection
- Use of and
inspection of fall arrest equipment
- A multiple
choice test paper
Course Details:
Certificates of competency will be issued when the test papers have been fully examined.
The easi-edge competency training is a one day course held at easi-edge’s Head Office in Tuxford, Nottinghamshire.
A minimum of 4
delegates per training session is required.
